Hi I have just been diagnosed with having a low white blood cell count which is a bit worrying. I have done a bit of research and have found information that Xarelto can cause a rapid drop in the white blood cell count. Going back to when I started taking this medication is about the time when my white blood cell dropped. I am waiting to see a haematologist but I am so worried about this. I was wondering if any else had experienced similar problems whilst taking this. Many thanks in advance.

Yes - I have low count & on same medication. Cardiologist & GP not concerned as said guidelines are just that & vary from person to person
Thank you for you reply Gowers. Can I ask you did your count go down after you started taking the Xarelto?
It was already low - can't remember the number but had dropped a point at last bloid test. Blood tests are only done x1 a year when on Rivaroxaban. At least thats at my surgery
Gowers do you mind if I ask you how low your white blood cell count is, it might give me a grasp on whether I should be concerned or not? You don’t have to answer this if you don’t want to.
I have experienced the same thing..just changed to rivoroxaban and am waiting for results..does anybody know if it makes a difference.
