My EP 'paced' my heart to check he had 'got' the trouble spots. I went into AF and was cardioverted so he did more work. I was cardioverted twice. My ablation was very successful so do not worry!

Hi Buffafly,

You said the EP "paced your heart" l believe that means he increased the beats per minute to bring you into AF, any idea of how fast EP's tend to bring the heart rate up-to to induce AF and ablate further if necessary? I believe l was paced during my procedure as well.

Sorry, no 🤔, maybe depends on the patient? My heart is a bit rubbish so wouldn't need to go too fast!

Hi Pottypete,

Do you mean the ablation was a successful one?

My EP said that I went into AF during my ablation and had to be cardioverted. I said "Was that helpful?" thinking that it might have shown where the problem was. He replied " No, not really." I would not have known if he had not told me as there was no evidence.

Hi Jenny,

l'm surprised by your EP's response. My EP said he would induce AF if necessary.

No the cardioversion was a success and you returned to normal rhythm.

The ablation is another matter and you have to give it time. 80% of ablations are successful.

Hope I didn't mislead you

Best wishes for a speedy recovery
