Back In AF

After writing a post the other day about vit D and stating that my AF wasn't causing me any problems, well I woke up in the middle of the night in AF. Disappointed to say the least.

I was in persistent AF before my cardio version in July (lasted 4 months), so I guess I will be again. Off to see the doctor later for an ECG to confirm.

Hi Stuart, It's always disappointing to be back in the thick of an AF episode. I hope this one is short lived and that you convert soon.

Hi Stucoo, it must be vexing to say the least that just after posting you felt okay you then went back into AF. Your cardioversion lasted 4 months though, so that's something to be glad about, especially as you know how much better you felt while in nsr and that's something to aim for again.

Once you get an ECG done you'll be able to discuss with your GP what the best course of action should be. I wish you well and hope you get the right treatment, perhaps a referral to an EP since the cardioversion has shown you can go back into sinus rhythm.

Thanks for the reply. ECG confirmed AF and I was also lucky enough to see my consultant today as well. He wants me to have another cardioversion and to start me on Dromedarone ( I was on Flecainide for a few months but stopped due to the side effects). We also discussed ablation as I appear not to be able to tolerate some AF drugs
