I have Paf. On Friday following an ear infection I developed Bells Palsy. Now have had SVT 170bpm and then AF 120 4 days in a row. 3 times after steroids, anti virals and food. Any similar experiences? I wonder if there is a vagus nerve connection? Still AF At 130ish Now in hospital

AF, SVT, bells palsy
sorry to hear this- glad you are being looked after
I am sure there is! Autonomic system and immune systems very closely linked and more and more research going on into these associated conditions. I have autoimmune disease with AF + autonomic dysfunction. Nearly everyone I speak with who has autoimmune disease has autonomic dysfunction as well, often triggered by trauma, especially to the spine, or virus or infection.
Of course. The vagus nerve is often involved with AF.
Now I'm running at 120 and they want to give me digoxin. I'm not happy.
I know about the vagus nerve as sometimes I can revert with blowing in the syringe or drinking ice cold water. But Bell's Palsy is totally new to me as is Digoxin. Don't always feel totally confident in the cardiologists here as much as my EP at Papworth.
Hope things improve for you in the days ahead.
Been having digoxin for 2 days. Not made much difference. Sitting down I get Af at about 60-90 but start to move around and it goes up to 140. I can't even go to the bathroom without going weak. So unlike me. I have Left Ventricular Non Compaction and HF. I normally keep going but I don't have much resource to draw on and this is so suddenly debilitating. After reading up on it and seeing a cardiologist, a neurologist and a ENT consultant 2 of them have admitted that I may have vagus nerve damage. Going to swop my carvidilol to bisophonol tomorrow. Feeling quite scared as I don't know where this is going to go.
