Anyone following my posts, may remember, I requested a review with my Cardiologist which finally took place on 16th September. He agreed to an Echocardiogram and that was carried out on 28th September............I am still waiting to get the results of this!!

Despite emailing his secretary, who said he has a lot to get through!!

Hopefully no news is OK news.....but the wait is SO FRUSTRATING!!!

I can't believe how slowly the wheels grind sometimes! I'm not surprised you're frustrated... The NHS is going to have to feed that tortoise they're using to deliver results a bit more lettuce, I think...

I'm not surprised at the wait. I would have thought 6 weeks would be normal . Meanwhile I would work on the assumption that no news is good news.

The things is that tests don't get done just for the patient's information and, as a diagnostic aid, the results can be couched in language of such technical complexity that us mere mortals and owners of the hearts under review, may be none the wiser if we do get a copy!

That's ridiculous. I would be at the office and say I'm not leaving until I get my results. You've waited long enough. I go to Mayo Clinic and get my results same day! I would call again and ask to speak to the office manager and say you want your results and you want them today. Also request a copy of the report. You have a right to that as well. Good luck!

Hi Wightbaby, did you get the Echocardiogram done on the Island or Portsmouth? I had one done at St Marys (when i was in permanent AF) but the results were sent to Portsmouth for analysis as I had already been referred for an ablation.

To be honest nothing was said when i had a meeting with the Doctor a month or so later in Portsmouth so I assume they either didnt get the test results or there was nothing to worry about. The lady that did the Echocardiogram said she was measuring the size of the left atrium as it can enlarge over time with AF and when I joking asked if it looked ok she said it did although she wasn't a specialist.

Keep plugging away and you will get answers but they seem to be incredibly busy both in Portsmouth and the IOW.

Let us know when you get answers!
