I watched it, very impressed. Good to see Roy Taylor who has been so influential in discovering and spreading the news about the lchf diet. I have done this, lost one and a half stone, lowered cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, increased exercise and come off a couple of meds. My af is milder and less troublesome, but I do still get episodes. I hope lots of diabetics watch the programme too.

Hey well done with the diet. What is the ichf diet? My daughter in law is struggling to lose wieght and has tried most quirky diets under the sun but of course it all goes on again when she eats normally again. She needs something habbit changing really. X

LCHF is the Low carb, Healthy fat diet. I've been on it for 45 days now and have lost 5.5 kg. it's easy to do, not faddy, you don't get hungry and you get tomeat bacon and eggs for breakfast. There are loads of books on the subject. You can even have a treat at the end of the day, 70% chocolate etc.

I Really enjoyed it - very moving and inspiring but I did think it was a bit sketchy on the details of diet change. I gather it was something fairly radical! Also no mention of AF after the initial whiteboard scene. It would have been good to know if there was any improvement (although to be fair that seemed to be the least of his problems)!

Lchf=low carb high fat. Google will give you loads of links. My hb and I are quite evangelistic about it. He was overweight (not diabetic) and we have both struggled for decades to lose weight. Because of my diabetes I went looking for answers, and found them in Michael Moseley's book, the 8 week blood sugar diet. You don't have to be diabetic to follow it! It requires dedication and commitment, as in the programme fixing dad. We have adapted the meal suggestions to suit ourselves, now we understand how carbs and sugar, in excess, are toxic to our system. I will never ever go back to my old bad eating habits. B t w, the fat in the diet is lovely creamy stuff, butter, olive oil, fat yoghurt, full milk, etc. dairy fat is not the menace we ve been indoctrinated about since the 1980 s. No need to keep searching for all that low fat, processed rubbish! I agree that the programme didn't focus enough on the diet, which is crucial to the happy outcome of reversing diabetes. Exercise is also very important, as we saw. Because I am now fitter and lighter, I am able to increase my dance classes to 3 a week. Win win! Good luck to your daughter in law, dedeottie. Jan
