If you have AF that is a possible side effect, particularly if you are in persistent AF.

What is your BP like?

in reply toPeterWh

thanks for replying

Not in persistent AF and BP was normal as was heart rate.

Dizziness and feeling faint came on and was with me for approx 5 minutes then passed. Worried about continuing with my Apixoban as only been on for one week and wondering if this is a side effect.

Cannot stand being on antocoags but have no choice....

Nothing here, no side effects on Apixaban so far at least.

I've been taking Apixaban for two and a half years without any obvious side effects, other than small bleeds taking longer to stop. Like you, I loathed the idea of drugs but the alternative is worse so we take them.

One thing I have been guilty of is to think that any ailment I have must have been caused by one of the drugs - only to find out that there was a different cause. Dizziness is not normal but it can be caused by many things, including drugs. Perhaps mention it to your GP?

Best Wishes

I've been on apixiban since Oct with no problems, just the odd nasty bruise !! Good luck x

thanks everyone! I feel very feeble mentioning these things but so reassuring that others are in the same boat, and yes, Finvola, you are absolutely right, sometimes we look to blame a drug for any abnormality as we see it. I am not on other medication but a worrier so.....

if it happens again I shall raise with my doctor.

thanks again

I took Apixiban for 2 days and reacted violently to it

Coughing up blood, dizzy, confused, blurred vision, rash, headache , tiredness.....

I have had 3 spells of sudden dizziness (from nothing) in the last 3 weeks since starting Apixaban. I have not been in AF on any of these 3 occasions. Wondering if Apixaban is to blame. Would like to hear if anyone else has confirmed this as a side effect.
