visited osteopath yesterday  for leg pain she took a full medical history and then gave my some treatment due to go back on Monday but I have since read that it's not recommend if you are taking anticoagulant ? She was aware of this and didn't seemed concerned .

Well, I've never heard of that ... ever. I've been going to an Osteopath, and still am when I need to, for years, pre AF and post AF. For me at least Osteopathy has no bearing on my anticoagulation. Just never ever heard of this at all.

I'll just carry on with what I've done for years .... get treatment from an Osteopath as and when I need it.

i have been seeing an osteopath recently. I am trying to be proactive during my 11 month's wait to see an orthopaedic consultant on the North Wales NHS. Full details of my medical history were recorded and anticoagulation is not an issue.

I told my GP that I intended to see an osteopath and his exact words were "Go for it."

I've no specific interest in this issue and notwithstanding Bob's comment, I've just googled 'anti-coagulation and osteopathy' and there are a huge number of articles that say osteopathy, or at least aspects of the practice, should not be employed on those taking anticoagulants.   In none of them however could I find a reason why.    But I guess there is something in this that perhaps an osteopath could explain.....?
