Very normal. As the heart is healing from all the trauma, it is not unusual to have bouts of AF or palpitations. You are only 3 weeks post-op and your heart still has a lot of healing to do. I hope you are having a gentle recovery. Typically the 3-6 month blanking period can have some little bumps like that. Be well and take good care.

Why oh why do they not explain all this? Yes of course it is normal . Your heart has had a considerable knocking from the procedure and it will take at least three months if not longer to settle down. It takes that long for the scar tissue which blocks the rogue impulses to form so you will get some funny rhythms and possibly some AF during this "blanking period".

Relax you are normal.

Yes probably is but you still need to heal and that takes time.

Suggests to me that in reality your body was not ready to return to work.

It makes me crazy that some surgeons don't explain this thoroughly.  Think about if your hand had been burned (or frozen) repeatedly, but you couldn't reach it to put salve or bandage on it.  Think about how long that would take to heal.  Your heart muscle needs time, and of course it is likely to still misfire a bit as scar tissue forms to block the paths of the errant electrical signals of AF.   Also, some surgeons fail to explain that it is so important to eat right and exercise right to keep heart healthy afterward because that really increases the odds of a successful ablation continuing to be successful for a very long time.
