Good luck tomorrow.

When I had my ablation I kept telling myself that Bob had promised that dental treatment was worse. I was prepared to give him a good telling off for misleading me but it turned out that he was right. For me, all the organising was the worst - what if the Runcorn Bridge was blocked, what if the car broke down, what if my son overslept, what if I felt too ill to go?

Once there you become so involved with preparation that the worst worries are over. Try to relax, go with the flow. You are doing all you can to rid yourself of this rotten condition.

Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes.

Relax and enjoy. Let us know how things go but do remember to take it easy and not overdo things afterwards. It WILL take time for things to settle down afterwards so do expect some funnies.

I am sure that they will have told you that it takes about three months for the heart to heal so don't worry if you do get some events so try not to worry. It IS normal.

Best wishes, the procedure really is straightforward and after you will wonder why you were so nervous. Nearly 5 weeks on my stamina is nowhere near what it was, so take heed, take it easy.

Best wishes. I am waiting to go for a second ablation and am very anxious about it. I had one in Oct 2014 and was so scared then too. Everyone on here is right though...it was NOTHING to fear. The cath labs are so high tech and those guys are the most skilled and expert you could imagine. You are in safe and expert hands. The IV diazepam was amazing too lol. My ablation lasted about 4 hours under local anaesthetic but felt much quicker. I did have a small amount of pain at one stage during it but was given more IV pain relief the second i groaned. The pain is in NO way unbearable or awful...i see you have kids...NOTHING compared to childbirth lol. I was just scared of all the possible risks and imagined the worst but that is just fear and that is the way i worry....the actual procedure is most definitely nothing to fear or worry about and I am a real whimp so believe me you will be fine. Spoil yourself and plan your first lovely meal when you get home and treats like massages while you recover:)) let us know how you get on. I look forward to hearing xx

Oh sorry i misunderstood...thought you meant you had no kids to look after while you recover just. But anyway....my point was it was really not sore as i had built myself up for pain and it was totally fine. That is lovely that the hotel staff checked on you. How caring. Hope you get a good night's sleep but you will rest all day tomorrow anyway so enjoy chilling:))

Sharryn.

Thanks for the compliment.

I am sure that you will be fine and obviously hoping that it goes well. It is really a piece of cake and the staff are so professional and courteous. I can't remember if you are having sedation or GA. If you are having a sedation then you will be chatting to them at odd stages but most of the time you will be away with the fairies. I wish I had been awake for more of it!!!!
