Cancelled .....

I was all ready for the ablation. Watched the other ladies in the ward eating their dinner - only me "nil by mouth"!! At 1.30 p.m., unfortunately, the dr. came along and apologised for having to cancel my procedure.

It seemed a long 5 and a half hours of waiting, but it really wasn't wasted as the lady in the next bed had received her ablation yesterday and she was a real mine of information on what to expect and delivered it all with a great sense of humour. It also made me feel much better about having my rearranged procedure.

I am now scheduled for 24th March. With that date, I will just be able to say I am still 81 as I will be 82 on the 29th March.

Oh, a bit of a let-down. I hope you got some lunch!

I was given a very nice snack box which I am eating at home now.

I now have to book 4 more weekly warfarin tests. Think I will feel like a pin cushion, as I was also on weekly tests for the November one, which was cancelled due to a bad chest infection.

Well, keep off the spinach and keep your INR where it should be! Keep away from people with coughs and colds too. Third time lucky hopefully.

Well, that's a big run up for a big let down :-( Always frustrating. Well, good luck with the next go round. You will really be prepared!

What a blow when you were all ready there and even fasted!!!

If its any consolation I have had weekly warfarin tests apart from when I was on holiday.

Noooooo! You are taking it very well, I don't think I could. Any explanation?

Good luck for the 24th, my daughter's birthday and she is very lucky!

Yes buffafly very legitimate reason. There were complications with the person before me and I appreciate that safety must come first. Hope your daughter has a happy birthday.

Look out for some more reassurances being needed around the third week in March.

So sorry it didn't happen after all the preparation but at least you already have another date.

Take care

Oh bless you, so happy NHS taking care of you (I.e giving you necessary procedures) at your marvelous age, you hear such bad stories of people saying "at my age they don't seem bothered" , not offering treatment etc because of advancing years, good luck with it,and a happy birthday to!!! , let us know how it goes x

Going hungry and watching others eat must have been hard and then for nothing.

sounds handy though to get info from someone that had a successful ablation.

good luck with yours , and its happy birthday in advance from me.
