How interesting!

Now I know why I was prescribed Dabigatran after my ablation. I was a bit confused as most people seemed to be on Apixaban.

I had cut out statins recently due to a mobility problem but obviously need to be taking them again!

PS all this talk of blood thinners will have sent Bob's blood pressure soaring!!!!!

Thank you for posting this Steve. Dr Gupta talks so much sense and explains everything in a way we can understand. Please let us know when he does another recording.

I'm pleased so many of you have found this useful and Dr Gupta explains AF and other Cardiology issues in an easy and helpful way this helps us all make informed choices to what treatments may suit us best he has his own channel on You Tube if you put York Cardiology in the search bar you will find all his listing there...some of you may already have a very helpful GP and specialist but those like myself who have struggled with his own GP and trouble getting referrals etc I find Dr Gupta really does help me understand what is going on with our condition.....

Thanks Steve - particularly interesting to hear that apart from lifestyle changes, statins also play a role in minimising inflammation of the arteries. Musetta

I thought that atrial enlargement was caused by the AF and not the other way round. We could do with clarification here please....

I agree, very confusing. The bit at the beginning about being old and having high blood pressure was odd too. Anyone else think that?
