Have there been reports of very helpful Insurance companies ,please?

We need to go to USA

I have had a successful Ablation with a follow up app in 3 months time,

last few times that I have been abroad I have used Saga . My friend's husband who also has AF used them for USA trip. Obviously you have to be over a certain age, 50 or 55 I can't remember,

Previously I have been refused cover or told that the excess was £500, Saga was £50 .

I have since had a convergent procedure which includes catheter ablation , I have no idea if this will make any difference to the cost of insurance. I will find out soon,

As I have said on a different thread I use Holidaysafe, yes loaded but reasonably, and they seem to know what they are talking about.

Get a quote from Allclear they are quite reasonable and cover most illnesses...

I also use Saga. After some online research, I found that they were recommended by Which? and there were generally good reports of them. They are, however, by no means the cheapest available!

Anyone with a Civil Service pension should try CSPA. £180 for 12 months. Only rule is that you are fit to travel.

I used "World First" they have other trade names but handle clients who have medical issues. Very helpful on the phone (call them rather than use the web)

I too am too young (just) for SAGA and have had unpleasant experiences with Insurers in the past. I ended up changing my bank account to an HSBC 'Advance' at £5.95 per month because it includes reasonable travel insurance and I have a letter on file from them saying that they have acknowledged my AF and that they will accept related claims. Hope this helps.

Iv'e just got travel insurance to include US from Aviva, just answered the AF questions on line about my two ablations. The policy has come through with my acknowledged AF...about £200...not bad I thought.
