Why not Paul, they are the same drug. There has been a serious supply problem with flecainide so what you can get is what you will be given,.

Hi Paul - I normally get the Actavis 100mg but have had to accept Mylan quite often recently. Does the same job but I hate it because the Mylan tablet is rough and coarse and harder to swallow.

Thank you everyone , I only ask because I once used a different pharmacy for a prescription of omoprozole and got a different brand and my symptoms all came back within days of taking it , my doctor told me never to change my pharmacy once I have a brand that suits me , this is why I'm worried about the change of brands here , cheers Paul

Snap Paul, I have been given 3 different brands recently, all OK so far.

Hi Paul,

Had my atrial flutter ablation in Dec, however I now have AF. Due to see my EP in Mar 16. How are you getting on? Has the ablation sorted your problems or do you need another?

Best Wishes

Barry

Hi Runcrans - I've always had Actavis Flecainide 50mg and that's what I do my best to get and have been successful so far. I tried a different make, but noticed a difference. Ring around some of the pharmacies in your area and see if they have that brand in stock and then take your prescription there. Boots will be the most likely. I went into another town nearby the other day and Boots there had several packs.

Last week I rang Actavis and they said that Boots will have priority deliveries as each batch is released, but that the shortage will hopefully be over towards the end of February. Jean

Thank you jean , my problem is they always give me all my other stuff and tell me to pop back in a few days for the rest so then they won't give me my prescription to try and get some elsewhere , I mite ring my doctors to see if I can have a separate one for the flecanide cheers Paul

Whether you order your repeat prescriptions from your GP electronically (ie online) or have to fill out a paper repeat request then just order the flecainide as a stand alone item. Then the next day order the rest of your repeats.
