Is bradycardia sometimes caused by medication such as Candesartan ? Does AF always have some component of bradycardia ? Thank you everyone

Hi Ive also been on Candesartan for a number of years .

have annual checks at GP, They flagged up the and the bradycardia a few years back (around 50 bpm ) but never been told it was something to worry about out . Never been a suggestion that the case of the low rate is the Candesartan either.

Checked the sheet that comes in the pack and low heart rate not listed as a side effect. Low blood pressure is though.

hope that helps

Bradycardia means slow heart rate.

Candesartan is an angioreceptin blocker and is used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. It has no effect on heart rate.

When in AF the heart rate is usually faster. You can get slow AF which tends to occur in patients who are in AF all the time (persistent). In AF that comes and goes (paroxysmal) he more common pattern is that the heart is fast in AF and slower in normal rhythm.

I've just had tachybrady syndrome diagnosed. Something told me it was caused by bisoprolol so saw an EP. He reluctantly took me off beta blockers put me on a calcium channel blocker.

I'm also convince that the statins gave me Diabetes type 2.

Please private message me as to treatment you found which might also help me.
