How much would one expect to pay for an initial private consultation with a cardiologist to discuss AF? Any clues would be good?

Private consultation
I paid £200 for a consultation with an EP last year. Well worth it too.
I paid £175 earlier this year. Well worth it.
I have just paid £180 to see an Specialist at a Spire Hospital re my shoulder. The waiting time in North Wales is 11 months on the NHS but by going private I had a 3 day wait.
I feel like signing this note "Disgusted of Flintshire."
My EP appointment at BMI The Alexandra was £220 in January.
I paid £150 (per session, think I had 2) but that was about 4 years ago. Worth about £2,000!
I paid 230 for an initial consultation. If you want to pay for tests they are extra and follow up appointments are 125. X
£250 which included an ECG in Exeter Devon.
I paid £160 for my Consultation at BMI Priory Hospital, Birmingham at the beginning of October.
Because the NHS Consultant discharged me back to my GP with a couple of suggestions for meds which were totally unsuitable because of other health issues, I then had additional costs for a CT scan (£306.96) and blood tests (£156.73).
I am lucky that I am still working and I am covered by health insurance.
If you can afford it, I would definitely go for it.

This is a PS to my earlier post re £180 consultation re my shoulder. I had an original consultation at £180 then a physiotherapist's assessment at £40. The follow-up visit to the consultant was £100. They wanted to do a nerve test to see whether the numbness is due to trapped nerves in my shoulder or wrist, £400 and a spinal X-ray £210.
It racks up very quickly and makes you appreciate the NHS. Unfortunately our local hospital will stay in special measures for another 2 years. Cardiff needs to do something positive!
I would go to an EP rather than a cardiologist
I went to an EP at Spire Sheffield September 2014, £200 for the consultation and £80 for an ECG. After the initial consultation he referred me back to the NHS without my knowledge so didn't get another appointment until May 2015 despite him saying he would see me again in January 2015 and me chasing them!
Make sure you see an EP, NOT a cardiologist. Any good cardiologist will refer you to an EP but that adds another consultation cost. Cost is £200 to £250.
For any tests needed, insist the EP writes to your GP and gets the GP to arrange for them done on the NHS, then sends the EP the results. Otherwise you can easily incur £1000 of extra costs. Waiting time for tests is never that long.
