Heart scanner at hospital entrance
What a brilliant idea.x
A brilliant idea. I hope that they have the resources to follow up the patient there and then, without compromising existing out patient appointments.
This looks like the Cardiocity device I tested during last years Heart Rhythm Week. Over two days I did random checks on 85 patients at two different health centres and found 7 arrhythmias. These were followed up with 12 lead ECGs at a later date. I believe Rosy's team used one this year in a shopping Mall as well.

That is a scary statistic, especially if those 7 people didn't know that they had the arrhythmias.
Two did, the others not. 12 leads did not always confirm the original trace and not all were AF of course. Remember it is only a snapshot at that moment but I did get the impression that national statistics were underplayed.

Yes but a year ago I did not realise that I had AF until I came round from a general anaesthetic after an eye operation and was told so and by then I was in persistent AF (and severe)!!!! I had had AF for some time but explained off the various symptoms to other things and it had got worse for sure. Once I knew about it and the symptoms going backwards I could identify three of four stages where it step changed for the worst. Would have been much better if I had known sooner!!!
If I had paroxysmal AF it would have been a different story.
This is my local hospital so very pleased to see this! We have an excellent Cardiac dept.
Get thee down there to test it out
