I was taking 2 dessert spoonfuls of apple cider vinegar with honey and some water, daily, for gallbladder problems and didn't have any effect on my INR readings
Walter.
I use apple cider vinegar for my arthritis in my hands. It does give me some relief.
I buy mine from the chemist, it's called Honegar.
I usually just take a big gulp from the bottle (no one else uses it) a good shake and then get someone whose around to open lid then a big gulp/swig of it on its own omg it's disgusting but it seems to work on the pain on my hands, fingers etc. I don't mix it with water just neat.
I do always have a drink of squash straight afterwards though.
Hi GladU
I'm not on warfarin now, being on a NOAC, but was for nearly 3 years, and the advice I got early on, and to be honest the best advice I got, was don't get too hung up on the "beware" foods or even overall diet.
To get the INR in range and then to keep the INR stable, adjust the warfarin to your diet, not your diet to warfarin. For sure avoid cranberry juice, and don't overload on dark green vegetables, but don't change your existing diet too much or you simple won't stick to it. If for example your Mum is a big salad eater, then let her continue it will be easier to stick to than changing. Warfarin dosage will be adjusted to take care of this.
For most of us that has been the successful way to stable INR with warfarin, and then avoid any sudden changes in diet as that will almost always affect your INR. And don't binge on anything.
Be well

Hi Ian:
I'm curious as to why one can't have dark green vegetables on Warfarin? The docs are talking about putting me on a blood thinner again, and I pretty much live on spinach, green beans, broccoli, and dark salad greens. Would I have to give those up?
Cat
Dark green vegetables contain Vitamin K and that reduces the effect of warfarin. You can eat them but the more you eat, the more warfarin you will need to take. The usual advice is let the warfarin fit your diet rather than fit your diet to warfarin. But don't eat lots of spinach one day and nothing green the next day - keep things even if you can.
Hi Cat
As Relim says warfarin supresses Vitamin K and dark green veggies contain lots of Vit K. So they can affect your INR.
BUT. Dont change your diet it just means your warfarin dosage would change
