Hi all.

Going to Majorca end of June for my big Birthday, any advice for flying with pacemaker, maybe something I haven't thought about?

Thanks in advance

1) Don't go through the metal detector and make sure you have a letter about your PM with you at all times.

2) Enjoy your holiday!

Adding to the message Bob wrote, make sure you carry your Pacemaker Card with you as proof that you have a PM. I mean they can look at the PM site if they need further proof lol! I have a PM and have never been asked for my card when going through the airport! Just enjoy the 'pat down"! Cheers! Barry

The only thing to watch is if you get a hire car with one of the new electronic keys that don't require you to press buttons or put it in a hole in the car but just have it in your pocket - evidently they CAN interfere with the pacemaker. My husband had to contact the pacemaker manufacturer to check the specs as there was a warning in the car's manual.

Sunny here in Andalusia, 20-27 but last week was like back in UK, cold, windy with leaky clouds, didn't actually rain, just dripped a lot. I'll try bring home some sunshine for you all tomorrow on our return,

Just back from Majorca travelling from isle of man through Liverpool. And both ways at Liverpool they treated me like a terrorist studying my pacemaker card, belt off, shoes off, feel round my waist line, check bottoms of socks, but it was worth it for a great holiday. Just stick to your guns when they give you the choice to go through. At Palma i merely pointed to my chest and they waved me through . The pat down was ok bit I'm not a fan of gay marriage! Anyone else on here from iom? Barry

Don't let them wave the hand held thingy over you either at the airports.

Thanks don't wish them to wave any hand held thingy over me lol!

flown 6 times since my pacemaker insertion last august. No Problems i just walk through dont stand in one or allow the one they pass over the body. Think as long as you walk straight through its fine. If new pacemaker may want to think about not getting new scar sunburnt i covered mine with a plaster last year. Enjoy
