Twice in recent days I have seen reference to numb fingers on this forum. Additionally Rellim and I have swapped observations about numb feet.
I have an intermittent problem with numbness in my left hand which may be due to carpel tunnel syndrome but it's worse since my ablation. A suggestion was made to me that the numbness in my extremities might be due to poor circulation as my heart is not so efficient at present.
I have Flecainide packages from several manufacturers and have just read through their instruction leaflets. One states : possible side effects - occurs in less than 1 in 100 users - damage to nerves in fingers and toes causing numbness.
Perhaps that's the answer!

Actually, I get a sort of cramp in my fingers occasionally. It's not the same as the numbness in my feet which is constant. I don't feel my heart is particularly inefficient as I don't get puffed if I walk uphill, but it might be that the circulation works well enough locally but doesn't have the power to reach down as far as the extremities.
I take a beteblocker - atenolol, but a small dose (25mgs)
I stopped Bisoprolol completely 3 days ago, part of the post-ablation strategy. I am still on 2x50 Flecainide but should be off that too shortly. I'll be interested to see if things improve! I'm keeping some Flecainide handy for use as a pill- in - the pocket.
I hope your ablation goes well. I'm so glad I had it done!
I am on Flecainide 100mg twice daily and luckily no probs with hands and feet. I do not see Consultant till end November, so will have to see if he increases it or what. Sounds as if it is a tablet folk do not want to take long term?
I'm just beginning to get advancing tingling and hot-cold numbness in fingers, hands, toes and feet. Also for the past year swollen feet and ankles, and severe persistent headaches, none of which has been diagnosable by any tests or scans. Freaking. Just started easing my dose of Flecainide down by a small amount, experimentally. Will discuss with doctor.
