Is my cold causing af

I'm on amiodrene till I get my ablation, was in sinus for over a week, but I've developed a bad cold virus, and now in and out of af all day and night, it's doing my nut in big time. Example was in af watching tv got up went to the toliet was back in sinus, sat back down two min later back in af!!!

Hi Kaiser78, viruses can affect our AF prone hearts.....mine has been banging away for two days only to discover I'm coming down with a cold/flu virus...but thinking it was some damage having been done with a 2nd ablation so soon....in a way its a good indicator for being unwell. I hope yours settles down soon perhaps you need to change your anti arrhythmic? I only got given Amiodarone after my surgery and it never worked they had to use Flecanide!

Cheers loo, I've never been right since my 2nd ablation, flecainde only worked for short periods, after my first ablation I was back playing football after a few weeks and stopped meds for 6 years, the last year has been hell!!!

You're welcome Kaiser, sounds like you might have a rogue PV kicking off that needs to be checked out...they do recover conduction as my trial has shown.....

It's hell, I got af now and then but since the second ablation it's everyday loo. What's Pv? Pulmory vein??
