Hi Yatsura
Well this is a guess, but I would have thought more than 100 and probably less than 150 last year, the AFA part of the conference runs alongside other "sister" charities, so the arrthymia alliance hold their patients day on the same day, and there are a number of other specialist split out groups so all in all there are a lot of people attending maybe 300 or more.
But the AFA seems to be the biggest sub-group and it was a really good day, you will certainly meet a lot of other people who have AF, as well as those marvellous people who run the charity itself, who deserve all the praise that we can heap on them for what they do.
Ian
I understand that the event is limited to 150 people.
Book now to avoid disapointment
Bob
Have just booked and the Hyatt! Sandra
I was at the Arrhythmia Alliance meeting last year and there were only about 20 people there. Stars was the other meeting, so I guess that must have had a similar number to the AF one. I would love to be at the AF meeting this year with all you lovely folk, but my underlying heart problem is genetic and affects not only me but my immediate and extended family so I feel duty bound to go to the most relevant talks i.e. the Arrhythmia Alliance group.
I will however try to meet up with you all at the hotel, the night before, if that is okay.
Cyril.
'I'm staying there too!
I'm going but not sure where I'm staying probably in the cheapskate travel lodge down the road then again I might just train it down and train it back. What's the normal set up anyway?
There are two Premier Inns - one is Broad Street Brindley Place and the other is Broad Street Canal Side. Very confusing! Brindley Place has no restaurant. They are both quite close to the ICC. Canal Side is nearer.
Oh thanks Rellim I will check them out I don't want to be stressing myself out traveling! Its all Zen from now on!
You can still come to our supper on Saturday night at Hyatt if you want. There is a Premier Inn in Bridge Street almost next door to Hyatt Regency. Just tell me you will be there , wear a pink carnation and turn up at the foyer about 6.30/7 pm.
Bob
Pink carnations are available from runwildbouquets.co.uk - see Buy Now, Page 2. But postage exceeds cost of flower!
What is Birmingham HRC please?
This is the annual Heart Rhythm Congress held at The ICC Birmingham . Full details on AFA website .
Patients Day is 5 Oct 2014
Can anyone please tell me what date is it and exactly where.
Am planning to come down from Scotland (before Salmon closes the border)
Full details on AFA website . patients day is 5 Oct 2014 at Birmingham ICC
Thanks Bob would love to OK checking out the Premier Inn!
I would like to come too if possible.
Does anyone know if there are still places left and how do I book my place? By ringing the AFA direct?
Bob, could I also come to your evening before the event supper if I manage to book a place?
Pat.
Thank you Bob!
I've just booked for patients day and also staying at The Hyatt .
I'm coming to the night before for dinner too. -Thank you Bob-
(feeling a tinsy bit shy to meet you all but looking forward to it)
Pat.
Its just dawned on me today that I might be having the second ablation at the end of September so wonder if I'll be well enough for the 5th October Patient Day arrgh! Don't know the exact date might be 23rd Sept but got told could be 2 weeks later depending on Docs diary. Oh joy so might have to give my ticket away if that's the case but we'll see!
