Hi, I've just started taking Cq10 30 mg x 3 daily. Didn't bother to check...it just seemed like a good idea at the time. Only after spending a fortune on the tabs, did I think to wonder if they're ok with warfarin etc. I googled it, and got mixed results. It apparently can work against warfarin re blood clotting factor, but also is good for hair loss for those taking warfarin. Also I have had two episodes of dizziness since starting Cq10, which apparently can be a side effect. I am going to have my INR monitored every couple of weeks, which I have arranged myself. I am sure I'm going to be told to stop taking them, which makes me cross with myself for not checking up beforehand. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Jan I have been taking it for years up to 200mg a day ! Never had a problem and like I always say Make your INR fit your life not the other way round..
Totally agree with Bob on this one. CoQ10 is really good for your heart as it helps the cardiac cells improve their pumping ability. The body's levels of CoQ 10 are depleted with aging. I am a huge fan of this supplement and take it every day.
I've been taking CoEnzymeq10 for six years and have had no problems with them at all. I've seen the stuff about them possibly having an effect on Warfarin as well, but I've mentioned the fact I'm taking Cq10 to at least four doctors, a couple of nurses and a pharmacist and have never been told by any of them that I should stop taking them - in fact, if they've brought any comment, it's always been along the lines of "well done".
G'day Jan,
I am taking one 100 mg capsule a day of this stuff and have done so on the advice of my nutrionist for the last 3 and half years. I take it first thing in the morning. I am on Ramipril, Simvastatin, Warfarin and Bisoprolol ............ I experience no side effects and it has no impact on my INR. Maybe you should try 1 x 100mg capsule a day instead of 3 x 30mg capsules. Or maybe try taking the meds at night and see how you go.
I started taking CoQ10, in the form of Ubiquinol, about 15 months ago. Prior to taking it I was having some chest pain when walking up even slight inclines. I was also about to start re-roofing one of the outbuildings on our farm and was getting quite concerned about how I was going to manage it. I had read about the CoQ10 and decided to try it. The change in my ability to do things was amazing. During the re-roofing project I was up and down ladders on to the scaffolding and doing all the joinerwork with absolutely no problems. I self monitor/manage my INR/warfarin and did not find any interaction. As mentioned I take Ubiquinol which is what our body converts CoQ10 to, so it is more easily assimilated within our muscles. I am also a firm believer in CoQ10 for anyone on statins since statins suppress the bodies production of CoQ10. I read recently that one of the drug companies is currently developing a statin with CoQ10 added to prevent the muscle pains that a lot of folks get with statins. (I'm not on statins, - had adverse reactions to them all).
Wow, thanks folks! I really expected everyone to say....oooh, get off them quick......But you all, to a man, (and woman) support my tentative foray into the realm of the unknown. I have taken the precaution of checking my bp daily, as well as having my INR checked soon. All seems in order. I would LOVE to find that I have more energy (farmerwalt) and also that my hair gets thicker.
