Maitha I searched for PAF on the same site and got the link below which is also very interesting if like many of us you believe your issues are vagally mediatedskippinghearts.com/articles...
Thank you Wendy B
Hi Maitha - I have no idea... I've never heard of either condition - I will try to find out more. I am not sure I believe spicy food causes AF because I'm a huge spicy food fan - I love those Shin Cup noodles, which I think should probably come with a 'dangerously hot' warning. Consuming them has never brought on AF. I will try to do some research on oesophageal spasms... No wonder Bob calls AF a mongrel condition!
PS How are you Maitha? Did you have the second ablation? How is your heart doing?
Lis
I think what everyone on here should remember is that we are all different. Like the others on here I have never heard of this and personally I don't trust all these sites unless they have medical backing

Hi Maitha, Thanks for the info, yes it makes sense to try to link this with Arrhythmia as I have had in the past some problems with swallowing and it was discovered that I have a goitre running down the esophagus which was treated at the time with medication for around 3 weeks, no other problems now, and no medication needed. It was a coincidence most likely, but this happened just before I got diagnosed with SVT which by the way I was told is not vagal, so this part doesn't seem to gell. In saying this it still does not seem to be a trigger that causes an SVT episode for me, although eating too fast could prompt spasms very occasionally, but not enough to worry about.
Wishing you well.
