Hi Kelx and welcome
Firstly congratulations on your pregnancy, to be honest AF is fairly rare in someone your age, so can I ask a few more questions to understand a little more?
You had an ECG done? why was that did you feel your heart racing, or an abnormal beat of any kind?
Is your GP any form of specialist?, whilst an ECG with AF is fairly clear (I am told) the intrepretation of ECGs can be a very complex science, AF is usually seen as the lack of a "P" wave, which is a little hump on the ECG which kicks the heart into a normal beat, did he mention anything like that? Only if it was just a one off, and he is now doubting his original diagnosis, then there might be nothing at all to concern you.
If you do have AF however, first thing is to stop worrying, if you had an episode of AF I suspect you would be asking completely different questions, for most of us our first episode often hospitalises us, usually mainly as we have no idea what it is or what to expect, and you do not appear to have experienced that?.
There are many people here who will gladly tell you what to expect if you do have AF, at least one other woman of your age that I know of, but most of us are well................ Maturer is probably the least controversial. (old fogies really )
Do come back and let us know if we can help some more

Yes he did mention it was very rare for someone with my age to have this. I had this done because it felt like my heart would stop or skip a beat when I was sleeping. Hes not a specialist but he showed another doctor who I believe is.
He showed me the graph of my first ECG and where the big line shot up didnt match EQUALLY throughout. He took a ruler too show me and the taller lines were off. I hope that makes sense.
My second ECG which was today and everything lined up perfectly! But I had read that sometimes AF doesnt always show up it comes and goes.
I should get an ECG done and read by a cardio or someone else who knows what they are doing. I went to my GP surgery 6 months ago and had an ECG. The one GP said it was abnormal and suggested I needed a pacemaker (and she was spot on) and sent it off to a cardio who asked me to go see him. Another GP at the same surgery said my ECG was totally normal, nothing wrong with it whatsoever. When I asked him why the other GP had sent it off to my cardio then, he just repeated what he said about it being totally normal !!!

AF is so easy to see as there is no rhythm to the line which is quite chaotic. I do wonder if he knows? If you are worried ask to see a cardiologist but it doesn't sound like AF to me.
