I am on 20mg Xarelto for 4 weeks prior to the ablation and feel as though the racing heart has increased a bit (NOT AF). Also, I am experiencing joint pain in just about every joint I've ever broken or injured... Anyone else?
Also is it "one size fits all"? Nothing to do with weight?
Thanks

I've been taking xarelto for awhile and haven't had any issues (as far as I know). We're all somewhat different in the ways we react to medications. If it continues, tell your doctor and they can prescribe another OAC which may work better for you. Good Luck.
Within 24 hours of taking Rivaroxaban I started with pains in my knees, thighs, buttocks, back, arms legs, shoulders, neck, arms and hands. I ached all over. After a few days I rang the GP and agreed to give Rivaroxaban a bit longer. After 12 days I saw him at the neighbouring village's surgery when at my request I went back to taking Warfarin. He was shocked at my inability to walk properly and to get up from a sitting position. At home I'd go from sitting to kneeling on the floor, crawling to a door, and pulling myself up holding on the door handle.
3 weeks later I was diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR). Taking Rivaroxaban and getting Polymyalgia, an auto-immune codition, was either pure coincidence or it was a contributory factor which helped to trigger PMR.
I posted on here but no-one else reported pains as a result of taking Rivaroxaban.
Thank you for your response! I'm sorry to hear about the PMR. I hope things are settling now for you.
I have been taking 1 rivaroxaban 20mg each night for 4 months. I have no side effects that I have notice, I'm pleased to say. During the first week or so I thought I had blood in my mouth some mornings, when I examined it, it was the tablet coating which is dark brown. Still happens sometimes but no bother. Drugs do affect people differently, so check back with your doctors. Rivaroxaban is also available in 15mg tablets. There are a few other alternative drugs.
