Did anyone watch this programme on Friday 28th? All about student nurses - and this episode included a man with AF who was in for a cardioversion. He was shocked 3 times without success. Interesting to see the process and would certainly put anyone's mind at rest if they were about to have a CV. The other interesting thing was, the nurse was warned by the doctor that often, patients had "erotic dreams" during the process!!

Hmmm...I must have missed out there!

LOL Me too Dadog, although the aanaesthetist was a very lovely young lady with eyes so beautiful I could have dived in and swam around, so I might have had an excuse

Just watched, on your recommendation. V interesting. I'm having yet another cardioversion a week this Wednesday. Nothing to it is there. Have always missed out on the erotic dream!!!!

So did I. I once had to simulate having a CV for a film I helped to make about AF a few years ago. They put the pads on me and when the director touch my foot I had to jerk up and arch my back. The joke was I had not long previously had a real CV and had bald patches on my chest from that but the idiot actor doctor put the pads in different places so I looked really odd.

Bob

I'm going to book a CV straight away.

No Koll! As you were! I'm sure those sort of dreams would be bad for you...even bring on your AF.

;-O

in reply to Dadog

I'm not going to book one really Dadog, just joking. I'm going to make my own, got a spare car battery and some leads.

Remember the ignition coil as well Koll, just to make sure you really jump.

Oh, you are all making me chuckle so much! Thanks for the heads-up Dadog, I'll see if I can catch it on iPlayer :)

Looks like another case of "you can't believe everything you see on television" since none of us seem to have had the experience when we had our CV

Walter.

in reply to farmerwalt

Either that or no-one's admitting it. Ever thought why so many people have to have repeats :-)

This is a great conversation, really lifting my spirits, especially as I had horrendous nightmares last night! There are a lot of witty people on here and boy, don't we need to chuckle.

Wow - what a lot or replies on this one. I missed them all as I was out in the shed, digging out the battery and heavy duty jump leads. Will 12v do the trick Koll? I have an old Rumbaken oil filled coil which should perk things up, do you think Walter? If I don't come back here, I have either electrocuted myself - or I'll be swimming around in those beautiful eyes Ian found!

I think I have to much time on my hands but I am addicted to the Healthunlocked forum and, after reading the above posts I think you will agree that you can see why I have this fabulous addiction..

Keep smiling!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah well...we have to keep smiling, PhyllisK. We all have something which we have to live with which gets us down at times. A smile and a chuckle can't be bad for us!

HI David, I agree about the smile and a chuckle but am really worried about Koll and the 12v.

Once again keep smiling!

Me too, Phyl. It is a worry. I hope he knows how to connect up to the battery. We'll keep an eye on the situation.

David. :-)

Perhaps one of the Volunteers could talk him down?

With all my 12 CV's I have had 2 pads on the front of my chest? he had one at the back, it was a shame it did not work on him.

And there's yet another mystery, Offcut. I certainly had a pad back and front. Seems to be nothing standard about AF!

I also only got 2 pads on my chest - for both CVs. I did get a sore burn mark after the 3rd shock at full power for my 2nd CV but no dreams of a hunky man to compensate. It didn't work either - so maybe, I'll just have to settle for real people & real dreams. The last shock I got was from the electric chicken fence connected to the mains, in my garden - that made no difference either, just made me go 'cluck'. Onwards & upwards, but never give up - that is the shocking truth

:-) :-) Certainly is a shocking situation, Chris!
