Hi Everybody. I have just been on the DVLA site and found that if you have a pacemaker you have to declare it.

I did write to them after I had mine fitted about 8 years ago, got a letter back noting it and saying it was ok to drive. I would just explain to them that you were unaware of the need to notify them, would not imagine they would issue a fine.

I have had a pacemaker for 3 years and I dont think I let the DVLA know. I did tell them about my AF and I have had a AV node ablation so things have improved. Think I had better check. I dont think they fine you, you can always plead ignorance

Most of the heart problems only come in to force when u r an lgv or psi driver ,I had mine taken away because of permanent af heart failure, my car licence is safe for now.
