Since then i have had 2 ablations at yearly intervals, both times af returning. It looks as though I might be heading for a third as the blinking af looks as though it might be back! Is anyone else in the same situation, I would greatly appreciate feedback. I am 64 years old. Thank you.
17 years ago I had a St Jude artifici... - Atrial Fibrillati...
17 years ago I had a St Jude artificial valve replacement for mitral valve. 3 years ago I started paroxysmal af.
Dear Anna
Im 48 years old and had aortic valve replacement 13 years ago , Paroxysmal AF started about two years ago and maybe more , and had my first ablation three days ago with two cardio version earlier
I'm still recovering from my first ablation can't help you more since your case is more advance than mine
It look like we are going in the same path unfortunately

Possibly but who knows with this thing, however, it does appear that there might be a certain inevitability. Staying calm, positive and hopefully one step ahead seems to be the best course of action! Thank you for taking time to reply.
Hi and welcome to the forum. I haven't had any valve jobs but I have had three ablations between 2006 and 2008 and been AF free since then. That is not to say I don;t get other arrhythmias like clusters of ectopics and short runs of tachycardia but the AF hasn't returned.

Does this mean that you can cope with the cluster of ectopics and tachycardia with no medication other than warfarin, and if, heaven forbid, the af does return, would you opt for a fourth ablation? Thank you so much for time to reply on this wonderful sunny Bank Holiday Monday, well, it is here in London!
