Well after 15 months my liver is complaining about the Nubeqa. The cancer clinic let me fall through the cracks and my Alt went up to 800s and my AST 900s. Once it was noticed, I went off Nubeqa and my enzymes returned to normal in 2 weeks. They wanted me to rechallenge at half dose as my SE have been very tolerable. Didn't work. A steady rise back up to the mid 400s. They now say Erleada or Xtandi..Is there any difference? Is one preferred over the other. Side effects less on one than the other. Thank you for any and all replies .

So long Nubeqa it was a good run

There has never been a randomized comparison, but in a retrospective study of men with metastatic hormone-sensitive PCa, apalutamide had better early PSA results than enzalutamide:

They didn't compare side effects.
Thanks for this post APK3. I have been taking Nubeqa for around 12 months now & dropped to the half dose after reading about liver damage. The PSA is still slowly coming down.
Gee, I’m on Nubeqa cause Abiraterone caused me liver problems.
So far I seem to be tolerating Nubeqa, Alt and AST are good, but just recently had a spike in my ALP.
I’m upset my organs don’t like the medication that gives me an edge on survival.
Best of luck

are you on other medications that can affect the liver? Statins?
I started last January 2024 with Abiretarone/Zytiga, and the same thing happened with my ALT and AST liver enzymes spiking to very high levels....tried reducing the dosage, taking a holiday and went back on it, still high liver scores....I moved to Apalutamide (Erleada) and it's been working for me (liver enzyme scores stable now, and PSA/T undetectable) with not too bad side effects......Best of luck to you !!!
Thank you for your reply and best of luck on your journey forward .
I've been on Nubeqa almost a month, but it hasn't caused much in noticeable affects yet. Can't speak to the liver. Taking Xtandi for just under 2 months made me the sickest I think I've ever been in 70 years of life and did not slow down my cancer. I think if I had taken it 2 more months, it might have killed me. I lost 25 lbs in 2 months. We all react differently to treatments, so you may have a different experience.
Honey...... add Nubeqa to the worry list, yep right after the car battery problem and our shitty looking lawn.......
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
