My husband has many more lymph node mets and spinal mets and 4 fractured vetebra recently observed on CT scan and bone scan.
Received one session of radiation, pain manageable , mobility limited. The radiation was a large dose, he is totally exhausted after 4 months of Docetaxal (which failed) and then the spine mets being radiated all in the last 4 months
The Oncologist says he has exhausted all treatments and no clinical trials will help , he is castrate resistant, with last psa of 91 as of 2 months ago whilst on doxcetaxal. Now told and diagnosed with Chemo Refractory Disease, negative Braca 1or 2.and it's just a matter of time??..
I am totally devasted but pleae help, is there any other treatments, anything that anyone can help me with, we are considering a second opinion? In Vancouver Canada attending BC Cancer Agency Vancouver.
Thanks so much

Than you TA always can rely on you for prompt feedback. The Oncologist said he is Castrate Resistant and has Chemo Refractory Disease, l take that as no chemo will work so my question is is there anything else
He has done at 2014 diagnosis, Adt 3 years Radiation to Prostate, watch and wait 5 years, psa rose to 54 back on Adt again failed Enzalutimide failed, Docetaxal failed. Radiation on spine, worked and lessened pain, mobility limited at the moment. Working on that. But what is there left to take to slow the progression of the cancer on lymph nodes or wherever else it might travel.
Onco said nothing will work no clinical trials???? I read on hear all the time Men who have more mets on bones than my husband and they are still chugiing along on some other form of therapy. Help please
How would he know if he is cabazitaxel- refractory if he has only had docetaxel? Cabazitaxel was specifically indicated for docetaxel-refractory PCa. In fact, combination with carboplatin seems to work particularly well.
