Anyone stage 3B with only RP and no other treatment? It's been 37 months his PSA is climbing to 0.06 now. What should we consider for next steps? Thanks 🙏🏿

37 months post RP T3BN0

I hit 0.06 16 months post RP and my PSADT turned out being 9.5 months. From this I deduct that your husband's is well above 15 months and as such the recommendations favour a wait and see attitude. As for me, I am the odd one out here but nonetheless doing fine. For more info you can check my bio,

I was also diagnosed at age 54. My bio shows a not uncommon journey when diagnosed that young. I’m glad I’ve been aggressive with treatments at each lapse of remission. 19 years later I’m in great health.
Good luck.
Threshold to check PSA progression
AI Overview
Learn more
A general threshold to monitor for PSA progression is considered to be a significant increase in PSA level from a baseline test, with a commonly used marker being a rise of 0.4 ng/mL per year; however, this can vary depending on a patient's age, initial PSA level, and individual risk factors, so close consultation with a healthcare provider is crucial to determine the most appropriate monitoring approach.
Key points to remember about PSA progression thresholds:
Age-dependent thresholds:
PSA levels naturally increase with age, so the threshold for concern may be higher for older men compared to younger men.
PSA velocity:
This refers to the rate of PSA increase over time and is considered a critical factor in assessing progression, with a rapid rise indicating a higher risk of cancer.
Individualized approach:
A doctor will consider a patient's medical history, family history, and other factors when determining the most appropriate PSA monitoring strategy.
