Hello!

Can I have my prostate treated with cryotherapy? I’m an oligometastactic CRPCa guy with one area (my right hip or pelvis) spotted. Your input is so much appreciated.

What is your treatment now?

Currently I’m on ADT (Lupron) and ARPis after 8 cycles of Docetaxel.

Sounds good. I was diagnosed more than 6 years ago as de Novo polymetastatic prostate cancer with distant bone metastasis in mu neck. I had early docetaxel chemotherapy six cycles and degarelix ADT injections. I added bicalutamide 11 months ago one year after the SBRT radiation to my prostate.

What is your PSA now? My PSA is stable at around PSA 2.5.

If your cancer is visible in your hip than why are you concerned about your prostate? Did you have mpMRI of your prostate? What is PIRADS score?

Do you mean you want to get your hip met treated with cryo? It's usually done with radiation, but it can be done with cryo if accessible.

No, Allen. Is it suitable for me as an oligometastatic guy to have my prostate treated with cryo? Hip is the only spot I have. I will be having Radium 223 in mid-December. Thanks.

Why would you want whole-gland cryo? The adverse effects are awful.

I thought cryo could kill the cancer cells, Allen.

Not very well and with lots of damage to healthy tissue.

OK. I will not consider it. Thanks.

Why are you being treated with Radium 223 if you have oligo metastatic disease? Are you having your primary tumor (prostate) and single met treated with radiation?

Hello!

Yes, I wanted to have both my prostate and my right irradiated but I have changed my mind because radiotherapy cannot completely eliminate the disease. As for the prostate, there might be serious side effects. So, please advise me as to how I should approach to the type of therapy based on my condition. Thanks.
