I hope that this is allowed, but I understand that my husband may have been a comfort to some of the members of this group.
Brent passed away at home in my arms on 24 September 2024. He had been confined to bed for nearly a month before that. His energy levels got less and less as time went by. He entertained family and friends until the last 2 days. He was still playing with maps and rocks, listening to the radio and charming the carers near to the end.
For those of you who may have asked, please find a link to the hospice that Brent visited and enjoyed.
I am very sorry to hear of Brent’s passing. Through his posts, I felt his zest for life and his passion for painting. I sensed that Brent’s painting was an extremely important outlet for him. Hopefully, while home, you can look at a wall and see a piece of his work, conjuring up good memories.
My heartfelt condolences on your loss. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for letting us know Jacqui. Brent helped me a lot with his wonderful paintings and provided a lovely alternative to some of the things we discuss here. I know that you must be hurting a lot and I hope that you can take care of yourself a bit now and know that Brent will be missed by many even though we never met.
Thought about him few days ago, I was looking at some equipment for watercolor painting. God bless you and your family, I hope you will soon feel better. He is at peace now, probably painting. A big hug with love to you all.
