Stage 4 Bladder Cancer?

Hi all!

My dad had nodules in his lung as I wrote in the previous post but that is not the only thing. He had blood in his urine and tomorrow he will do a TURBT. As I have read, it is a test to diagnose the stage of bladder cancer or to eliminate T1 and T2 bladder cancer. My father has been bleeding for about a month and I do not know if the nodules in the lung are related.

We have gone to three different oncologists and they all say that you have to wait because the nodules in the lung are very small(less than 6 mm) and they do not want to do a biopsy or test for neuroendocrine cells.

The PSA remains undetectable.

May it be that the nodules come from the bladder and have Stage 4 Bladder Cancer?Amy experience on this?

Thank you very much to everyone for your help

Someone I knew, RIP now, had prostate cancer metastasised in bladder. They gave him an immunotherapy, so to say, treatment that it comprized 6 weekly infusions, via a catheter, of some virus. Can't recall now which one, but not some exotic one. The idea was to awaken his immune system in a fight against this virus that would had hit cancer cells as a collateral damage. I do not know for sure what caused his passing. Was it the cancer itself or the treatment? Drs are good in camuflaging their mistakes.

1/3 of all deaths in the USA are from medical mistakes... Medicine is being “ Practiced “ on us all . No guarantees!

Thank you very much justfor, They are analyzing the biopsy and in a month they will give us the results. I believe that whatever it is is due to radiotherapy. We also go to doctors every week, and my father's prostate cancer is due to a medical error because he always went to check-ups so I hope that the bladder is not cancer. I love my father very much, I cannot be without him

In Jan 2019, a CT scan found that my Stage 4 prostate cancer had spread to the bladder wall. Doc performed a TURP removing what was remaining of cancer in prostate and then taking it out of bladder wall. All I had left were the bone mets.

Have had 3 CT scans since. One in April 2019 showed no disease progression. Another in Oct showed a small increase in size of bone mets in sacrum and illium. This was when casodex started to fail. Began Xtandi in Nov 2019 and as of Jun 5, PSA down to .5 which is lowest ever. CT scan revealed everything stable, no new growth or new mets. Bladder remains fine.

Hard to say in your dad's case but good chance that the bladder cancer is just another prostate met. Biopsy will give you a better idea.

Thank you very much for telling me about your evolution. It does not have a PSA increase so let's hope it is not finally, but we have to wait until September

Hi Noel, I have stage IV APCa which has grown into my bladder. My PSA is now 0.05 following ADT and Chemo. While my prostrate tumours have shrunk by about 60%, the mass in my bladder has changed little with these treatments. The biopsy results from my TURBT revealed the tissue was not expressing any PSA. I am about to commence radio therapy to attack these bladder tumours as well as the prostrate and my three pelvic mets. I hope my situation helps with your treatment decisions. All the best, 😎DD.

Thank you very much for answering. That of the bladder does not produce PSA so unless it is neuroendocrine it does not come from the prostate. Tomorrow he leaves the hospital in the morning so we will go to the oncologist again in the afternoon and I will also comment on it to see if they pay attention to us, in Spain doctors feel annoy about me asking me about treatments

Hi Noel, the biopsy results confirm it is prostrate cancer. It started in my prostrate and marched into my bladder. The fact that it is not expressing PSA, is one of the things I have yet to fully understand, 😎DD.

I’m so sorry Noel91 thats a terrible situation to be in . Waiting isn’t easy for anyone. My own father smoked 2 pacs of Salem menthol for 35 years and he quit at 55 but at 68 got bladder cancer . He was put into remission by chemo injection containing tb. We go thru life peeing freely withou much thought. But once blood is in the ironed or pain arises it’s a shock to our system . This urological stuff can wear one down . Take care .

Thank you very much for your support, he is in diapers and he is having a hard time bringing this new situation, just two years after he was diagnosed with the prostate but whatever it is we will fight him. I have read about the chemotherapy in the bladder, he has uncontrolled diabetes and kidney failure, I do not know if he can bear it but we must go little by littlr. Much encouragement with your father too.
