My husband is getting treated for radiation every day for five weeks and is experiencing nausea. Is that common? Wondering if it’s from something else like zytega as he switched it to early morning or the the radiation treatment.

Nausea as a side effect of radiation
could be from the ADT. My father deals with nauseous spells daily as well but well passed radiation completion. It’s the side effects of the ADT in his case
Radiation gave me nauseousness I can best describe as a hollowness in my stomach. Reverted to normal shortly after completing the 39-session cycle. Best wishes.
I had pretty intense nausea after about 5-10 radiation treatments. My radiation oncologist prescribed Ondansetron 4mg. I would take one 30 min before my treatment. It helped alot. If I still had mild nausea later in the day I would take non drowsy Gravol (which is essentially ginger). After my treatments were done (33) the nausea gradually disappeared. I still took the non drowsy Gravol when needed.
just like your husband, I am currently experiencing nausea during my 25 sessions of IMRT. I am wondering if it will stop once the radiation treatment is completed or if it is a side effect of ADT.
My husbands radiation stops on Friday when he rings the bell. So will keep you posted. Did you decide on proton or photon? Best of luck with your nausea. Ginger and lentil soup helps him.
Thanks SherryKahn. I chose Photon because their facility is closer to home in Long Island.
