I see your posts regarding zero success in regaining testosterone after ADT and all the related problems esp osteoarthritisYou don't seem to understand that it is low estrogen that is the cause of osteoarthritis - some of mens testosterone is converted into estrogen - so when a man's testosterone is cut off by ADT so is his estrogen

It's like a woman's menopause and the solution is the same HRT but since no one will prescribe you HRT why not buy a phytoestrogen such as wild yam from ebay

The ingredient of wild yam - dioscorea villosa - has been scientifically proven to stop prostate cancer I don't expect you to take any notice of my advice but I can see you are struggling

I have to confess that wild yam is one thing I've never used. I have used soy, black cohosh, and evening primrose.

It's very potent but you need to be aware that wild yam can be made into phytoestrogen ( bioidentical estrogen ) or bioidentical progesterone

and for osteoarthritis it's estrogen that works best

Evening primrose oil is a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor and inhibits prostate cancer it also prevents endometrial cancer bc it sheds the womb lining and for that reason should never be taken during pregnancy - they used to use it to induce post term babies

I suggest joining a pool. Swimming is great, particularly if done fast, and I also do bouncing/bounding. Less risk of falls and injury and my legs are MUCH stronger, and presumably the bones inside, too.

I assume you mean -2.5 not 2.5. Do as much as you can handle while keeping the weight light or even no weight. The pool is a great idea. So are body weight squats. Start with getting up and down from a chair. Doesn’t sound like much but if you do enough of them in a row regularly you’ll feel differently.

Ask your PCP or GP to prescribe women's estrogen patches. You will probably need at least 2 patches at a time, each one having a strength of 0.1 mg/24Hr. Best place to apply the patches is the upper buttock or hip. Estrogen has been proven to increase bone mineral density in men (Langley et al. 2016; Russell et al. 2017). It's safe and effective.

I thought that we were supposed to use heavy weight training to slow osteoporosis?

Skipping or rope jumping (better without the rope to avoid stumbling) 5 minutes per day if the problem is in the pelvis/femur. Compression “trauma” like jumping and running is the best for the job. Alternatively move around with weights in your hands but it’s less effective than continuous loading/unloading those bones.

thanks, but running and jumping not good for severe osteoporosis-2.5.

As long as you don't have fractures, running and jumping are fine. Heel slams, jumping on flat surfaces, and lifting heavy weights are even better. And it will help your body stay fit through cancer treatments. I have -2.9, -2.5 and -1.9 scores that are improving without medicine doing the above. Look it up.

I have a-2.5 4.1 lumbar spine and at femoral neck 0.593 vfh superior end-plate deformity at t12, I have a mild to moderate wedge compression fracture of t12 no other fracture demonstrated, that was x-ray I had in January 20/24,I have had 2 zoledronic acid infusions,I think lifting heavy weights will be dangerous.

I developed Osteoporosis due to ADT (Z-score=-2.7 in my hip) and searching for non-drug remedies came up on OsteoStrong after watching interview with its creator

youtu.be/YCjGURH2_4A?si=UTp...

I signed up with local franchise osteostrong.me/locations/) and go to weekly for 10min sessions there since last December.

I will have next DEXA bone density scan next August to see the effectiveness of this.

OsteoStrong Los Gatos started providing REMS scans recently so I had this done in September and will have another one next September. According to pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/347...

"The REMS approach had high accuracy for the diagnosis of osteoporosis in comparison with DXA in adult women. According to our results, this new technology has shown to be a promising alternative for populations without access to DXA densitometry."

So I'll have both methods to evaluate my Osteoporosis reversal progress (as promised) soon enough.

My .02, bodyweight calisthenics. Or, look into chair yoga. There are plenty of apps that feature these types of exercise.
