Finally made it from osteopenia to osteoporosis and they want to give me an infusion that makes you tired. Can’t believe they said it with a straight face.
Anyone have experience with this type of medication?

Hello,
What is the medication? If it is Prolia (denosumab) in higher doses it is known as Xgeva then I have lots of experience with this drug. I have been taking it for bone strength, osteoporosis and to prevent any skeletal related event (SRE) for about eight years. A little fatigue but small price to pay. Hope that helps.
Started with an R. I’m looking now. I bailed on today’s infusion until I know more. Fatigue is already to high. T never recovered from the adt and radiation. Then add on pre diabetes I was unaware of and goodnight Mike.
Hello,
It doesn’t sound like Prolia. I am guessing it is Zoledronic Acid. According to my medical oncologist Prolia is easier on your overall system and does not require as frequent monitoring of your kidney function.
Probably Reclast which is what I just had injected good for one year
Yes Mike that was it. Did you have any fatigue from it?
I usually have multiple side effects from different medicine. I learnt one thing MO is NOT good place to discuss and get the side effect treatment. I usually start with primary care for side effects and go to speciality and fix the side effects.
If it is Xgeva ingusion it made me sick as a dog. Switched me to injection that had no effect
Looking for it now if you mean drug company name. It was a type of Acid.
Which injection do you take?
Zoledronic Acid I believe
Probably zoledronic acid. I too have osteo but so far have not delved into the wonderful world of osteo drugs, to worried about dental issues popping up.

My husband has this monthly. It made him feel pretty rough for the first two infusions but now he has no side effects. Apparently this is the usual pattern.
Having seen him in agony with a fractured neck of femur, I am a lot happier knowing that he has stronger bones!
