Xtandi reduces effect of tamsulosin plus dutaseride ?

Dad has been on BPH medicine since 2011 to control symptoms of prostate enlargement - It contains tamsulosin and dutaseride

Recently he has also added xtandi - enzalutamide

I read online on drug interaction sites that enzalutamide can reduce efficacy of tamsulosin.

Did anyone who is on both too need any dose adjustments of tamsulosin ?

Does your dad understand if he is on Dutasteride for this long he must multiply his " LAB PSA Results x 2.5 times . For example , if his lab PSA is 8 , his PSA is really 8 x 2.5 = 20

Some doctors are unaware of this or DON'T tell the patient .

In my experience dutasteride only halved my PSA reading. I'm still taking dutasteride. Not sure why. My PSA isn't that high to begin with and my Axumin and Pylarify scans were both clean.

I'm curious why he's on tamsulosin. My oncologist stopped it since the reason for the prostate enlargement was no longer "benign".

My urologist specifically told me to continue it even after the diagnosis

I stopped seeing my urologist when I realized their treatment plan was 5 years behind SOC.

Tamsulosin eventually caused me to have bradycardia. Just a cautionary note.
