Another reason for annual imaging and liquid blood biopsy testing at my very low stable PSA level:
The statistical outlook does not fit my youthful, fit and otherwise very healthy 67. Just yesterday enjoyed a 9.2 mile rugged trail race with my 'younger' bother and daughter. I hope to draw on my efforts with my metastatic PC and realize long durable remission with this beast as well.
Clinical History/Clinical Impression:
67-year-old male with a history of prostate cancer and melanoma found to have a 2.6 cm liver mass.
DIAGNOSIS:
A. LIVER, CORE NEEDLE BIOPSY:
METASTATIC MALIGNANT MELANOMA. SEE COMMENT.
-BRAF NEGATIVE
COMMENT: Immunohistochemical staining shows the tumor cells
are positive for Melan-A and negative for NKX3.1 and
pancytokeratin. The findings support the diagnosis of metastatic
melanoma.

Thank you yes very early, hopefully this offers measurable time. Only one met identified, 'medium size', no physical symptoms. I consider myself most fortunate.
yes, skin cancer. I shall add Keytruda to my investigations. Will be heading south in my RV in couple of days from Idaho to family and all the medical availabilities in Houston, TX.
I have had two melanomas surgically removed; one over five years ago and one just a few months ago. Both were 'lower grade' with 'clear margins'. As with PC, good pathology, low PSA, clear imaging does not mean the cancer is not out and about. Additionally challenging is that melanomas can be hidden, unseen; between toes, anus, etc. I get checked at least twice a year with different dermatologists, and I am very diligent, as with PC. I was first to see both of my melanoma's and immediately scheduled appointments.
After an older sister was treated for Basel cell, I made an appt with the dermatologist to get my skin checked. I think it's time to make another appointment. The only thing worse than fighting one cancer is fighting two cancers. Good luck.
FYI...j-o-h-n had melanoma in the lung. He was put on Keytruda and I think he's cured now or at least in a long remission. If there's any upside to any of this maybe it'll also have a positive impact on the PCA too.
2. As far as the urinary stricture is concerned, I asked my urologist what he thought might have caused it. His response was that he wasn't sure if it was from the salvage radiation or from having passed (several) kidney stones. To this day I still believe it was from too much sex......and that I will also hit the Lotto....
