UPDATE- PSA JOURNEY

Hi folks

I have just had my regular blood tests. It was actually quite funny. My oncologist is not one for laughing but I interrupted him just as he was about to tell me my latest "score" and told him my prognosis after a 4 month gap was 0.38 - he laughed as he told me the bloodtest gave 0.39.

Theres something very systematic going on when I can predict my next PSA with such accuracy. If this continues I will be up to PSA=2.0 around April next year - then we can do some more scans. I had a CT scan in june (another issue) but no signs of tumours there - have to wait til they get bigger. I feel like my PSA journey is classic and predictable - which I interpret that all is under control and things are moving slowly. The sudden upturn which prompted Xtandi was clearly a different type of tumour. My plan from now is to pay more attention to exercise to compensate for the end of my housebuilding adventure which gave me lots of exercise.

Heres the updated version of the PSA curve - remember it is plotted on a log scale for PSA with vertical bars every 3 months.

They are just markers to show where I made systematic changes - mostly dosage changes for Xtandi

If cell lines change the predictability may also.

You need to follow up this with the results from April 2025.

Interesting how different countries work. In my neck of the woods (USA) I already know the PSA numbers before I see the doctor. This allows for an informed discussion that day.

Here some new to be parents make a big deal of the “gender reveal” of babies to be born by popping a confetti tube with the blue or pink paper inside. Maybe slips with your projection would be fun. Just a thought for your April 2025 visit.
