Testosterone

Good morning,

After years of hormone therapy and low testosterone, my bloodwork from Thursday shows an increase of testosterone.

My chart shows it’s been less that 7 for a number of years, now it’s listed as 8.

Does this mean that the Xtandi/Eligard is not working anymore?

T varies on a couple of things - season, time of day taken, a change in the lab procedure, etc. Seems good to me.

What time is T lowest ?

I was told to get T taken in the AM. Not sure if that is high or low point.

They are still working. That difference has several reasons for varying. One to note is that is within the testing tolerances. No worry.

What units? ng/dl or nmoles/L?

NG/DL

Great response! Anything below 20 ng/dl is optimal.

no. 7-8 is a rounding error and not a true difference. Will have the same effect. Good luck, Paul

That's super low. It's the T made from CRPC that would be concerning.

Hello Johnny Here,

It's my guess that when they were weighing you, you placed both your feet on the scale at the same time.... next time keep alternating between your right and your left foot (ask the tech to play some 1965 music cause that would help).....

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Good morning,

It's great to hear that your testosterone levels have increased! A slight rise, like from below 7 to 8, could be a positive sign that your body is responding, though it’s still relatively low. Keep in mind that testosterone levels can fluctuate for many reasons, including changes in medications, overall health, or even the time of day the blood sample was taken.

As for whether Xtandi and Eligard are still effective, that would typically depend on how you're feeling overall, along with other factors like your PSA levels and other symptoms. It's always a good idea to discuss the changes with your healthcare provider to understand the bigger picture and ensure that the treatment is still aligned with your goals.

If you're concerned about low testosterone or looking for more options to optimize your testosterone levels, testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) might be worth considering. There are a variety of options available, including injections, gels, or pellets, to help bring your levels where they need to be.

If you're in the Orlando area and would like to explore your options, feel free to check out Low Testosterone Therapy Orlando for more information on how you can optimize your hormone health: [Low Testosterone Therapy Orlando](menzclinic.com/low-testoste....

Best of luck, and keep monitoring those levels with your doctor!
