So what's does max recommend for frequency of HIIT? Weekly, Bi weekly or Tri weekly.

Does an intense several matches of playing singles Pickleball with sustained crazy volleys count?

I will take a stab at your question. I recently read that if you want to increase your VO2 Max here is what you need to do. 40 minutes of stage 2 activity - running, biking, etc and then four sessions of between 4 to 8 minutes of HIT aerobics to exhaustion. Take a 4 minute rest between sets.

I will be 80 next year and play pickle ball about twice a week as well as do resistance and aerobics daily and honestly after reading the above I came to the conclusion that something is better then nothing but none of my daily activities even come close to the above.

I will let you be the judge of whether you achieve that level of activity playing pickle ball.

So here's a typical Pickleball Session my co-worker and I play weekly. I'm switching between vigorous and moderate with peak period sprinkled in. I will tell you that at 59 and still pretty mobile, well sustain a 30 second extremely hard rally several times a match. All I know is after playing pickleball I feel it hours later with the muscle soreness and joint stiffness. I take a cold shower afterwards to help but still get the sore and stiff legs.

Weird. When I was young I used to play with my pickle and of course with my balls.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Very positive conclusion, and only in 12 weeks. Imagine what might happen over a year, year after year!

These were people on active surveillance and they have learned that training hard and regularly makes them healthier.

I totally agree with the above but I do not understand how this is news or how that might benefit us with advanced prostate cancer. I train hard and regularly and while I am healthy and look like a younger man, I still have advanced prostate cancer nonetheless.

Muscle mass, heart health (we tend to die because of that) and myokines release (they are good for every stage)

those capture links don’t work for me Maxine73. Unless the principal Is Very valid 3 - 6 intensive intervals of four minutes or so even once per week provide Large benefits which are so worthwhile.

I do not understand what you mean but from what I read myokine release is dose dependent (plus it's not the only reason we have to workout), even if of course there can be a limit due also to time limits, or simply to diminished returns. It could even be better (if one can) to split the workout during the day. Once per week is still better than nothing.

I workout 6 times per week most weeks, 5 times when I have the therapy, used to workout 4 times per week, I hope it's worth it, research seems to confirm it is...
