A happy 4th to you also!
I'm a pyromaniac so I thank you very much. Seriously an up close look at 16 pound balls of fireworks is cool. Back in the 80's my brother paid a Pyro guy's fee to come to my brothers birthday keg bash on a acreage. We got to talk with and be one on one with the set up from the Pyro guy. Only about 20 people at the party. Dude was no amature.
great post MA , and backatcha. Here in central California the 4th is heavily celebrated with the entire town looking / sounding like WWIII battle ground and heavy acrid smoke lying all over town. This, even in 110f heat lol. I like to fire off my black powder parade cannon , being careful to not load it too heavy that the shock wave breaks neighbor’s windows. Sometimes called a thunder mug.
I also have two full auto machine gun pistols with 32 round clips. I like to burp off a few hundred rounds during the evening , off and on. They are basically movie prop guns that shoot 9 mm P.AK. Blanks. Totally safe from the shooting someone angle lol.
We ordered in DoorDash and watched the live show out on our burb street . It went on for hours and was visually stunning. During peak activity, the ground literally shakes and the roar is so intense you have to cover your ears . lol for both the 4th and NewYears, every main suburban intersection has fireworks sales stands on all 4 corners and needs them. California has extremely strict “ safe and sane “ fireworks laws but , somehow, chaos seems to ensure anyway. Rotflol. Great QOL fun.
❤️❤️❤️
At least you’re not shooting canon balls

Sorry for busting on your WWIII festivities Kaliber, but i love it when everyone heads to the white mountains of NH and Maine beaches. Ahhh the peace and quite. No airplanes flying over, no roar of the highway 2 miles away. I do have to comfort my puppy from the distant fireworks but they only last a short time before a truce is called and WWIII is averted.
Rotflol … I used to like that as well but I’m in a wheelchair now and jumping into a vehicle and taking off requires “ major “ planning. There are about 34,000,000 people here and about 50%-60% heads to the beach for the 4th celebration. A huge fireworks battle among combatants has been a staple of beach 4ths for decades. So many people show up to the beach where it’s in the mid 60s , vs the 112f. we had here on the 4th that some lanes of the freeway at the beach are closed for parking for all the visitors. The point being that being in a wheelchair , all that walking etc. isn’t suitable for people like me. I can book a 4th room ( at a beach resort ) a year ahead and shocking prices per night but nothing was available this year due to the fires.
We have the Sierras Mountains with Yosemite and Kings Canyon national parks less than an hours drive. Surprisingly it’s even hot up there right now and nearly the whole state is on fire up in the mountains and no one is being allowed up there. lol. 60% of California is open state or federal lands open to everyone , but with 34,000,000 population, it never seems like enough.
Dealing with the fires… how many do you think were started by “humans” versus nature?
