I stumbled on this forum about 15 to 18 months ago. Just to show you how little I knew and how clueless I was I had no idea there was run of the mill prostrate cancer or an advanced form. I just knew I had prostrate cancer and needed to make a decision - surgery or radiation. I stumbled through this process by reading your inputs on this forum. My decision making was constrained by the fact that I am the primary caregiver to my handicapped wife so my options were limited for treatment choices.
Over that time I have learned a great deal and this group has taught me so much. I am happy to report that at least for now the sun is shining and my anxiety of who will take care of my wife has been relieved. Yesterday was my one year follow up to my radiation to my prostrate and pelvic area alone with 6 months of ADT.
Happy for now to report that at this point my radiation oncologist has declared me a success story and I am now just on follow up.
Thanks to all of you for guiding me through this process. I really appreciated the help and kindness.
