My urologist's assistant recently prescribed vibegron for my overactive bladder. I was getting up at least 6 times a night. Well, it has been a great success after the first day through day seven I am down to one trip a night. However, I seem to be peeing at least twice as much all day long. Anyone else have any experience with this drug?

I leak throughout the day. I wake up at night needing to pee. (Then I can’t go back to sleep, which is what is going on right now.). Is what I have at night an “overactive bladder? Will this drug help this situation? Thanks.

I can't comment on the continual leaking however, I was waking up needing to pee at least a half dozen times a night. The term "overactive bladder" seems to be a term of art among urologists that means nothing to you or me. It is however, written on my prescription label for whatever that is worth. It is my understanding that this drug is very expensive and may not be covered by Medicare. I get it from the VA where it seems to be prescribed only under certain conditions, one of which is that the patient be suffering from severe dryness in your mouth. Now, I have taken it for 7 days and the first night I only got up to pee once and slept nearly the whole night through. Subsequent nights were the same story but each day I seemed to need to pee a little more during the day (and more urgently) until after the seventh day I was going to the BR every hour or so. Other side effects seem to be muscle soreness, increased hot flashes, a small amount of blood in the urine and increased pain and burning while urinating. I have now stopped taking it for a day and all the side effects have stopped and I still have only awakened once or twice to pee. If you read the reviews of this drug online they are all over the place, from one to ten stars, but as of now I do not think I will take the drug again though, on the whole I am glad I did take it for the improved sleeping.

Might want to try a urinal. Cheap on Amazon. Wake up, grab the urinal, take a pee, go back to sleep I only have to go aabout 4 times night but ham made mu QOL much better these 5 years.
