CRISPR 13 (what? you thought I abandoned CRISPR?): very promising proof of concept - Targeting HOXB13 in mPCa by CRISPR/Cas13d- nanoparticle

And people thought it was undruggable....they have already filed for a patent 😲

Researchers developed nanoparticles that can deliver a special type of gene therapy directly to cancer cells in the liver. This system uses a CRISPR technology, not to edit DNA, but to block the RNA of the HOXB13 protein, effectively stopping its production. Tests in mice showed that this method can slow down the spread of cancer and extend life without harming other parts of the body. I like this approach!

I like that they are making great gains in fighting this beast but one gets tired of wackamole! Don’t get me wrong this is better than doing nothing and it is definitely advancing our understanding of CRISPR technology. I hope we are around to benefit from it.

timing worries me, technology I think potentially we are already at a point where we can play whackamole indefinitely because of new technologies that do almost zero harm to healthy cells...but I am not sure about when they will be available to humans...the preclinical phase has really been reduced exponentially, but there must be a way to speed up clinical trials as well

We certainly are getting closer to our understanding. I think AI working with recent progress in proteonomics along with CRISPA should speed up our knowledge on exactly how our CRISPA gene editing effects every aspect of altering of our genome.
