back in 2021 I had this feeling of dread when my boat was getting hauled out. Will I be sailing next season ?I had spent the summer sailing around Cape Cod and now back in Maine I was off me grog had little enjoyment of food I had lost some weight so i thought this was a good thing. but my bones where soar and that sense of dread . Like a storm is coming and you feel it in your gut. Now it was time to go to the doctor. I had never had a psa test in me whole 71 years of life it came back over 1600 with a bone scan presenting as a developing super scan . Its going to take more than a reef to get though this storm, i'll have to heave to.!So with degarelex and later abiraterone onboard I've been able to set a course to a more pleasant shore . me psa has been at .014 for the last18 months .I know fellow shipmates that there will bigger storms coming but for now I will sail on. Fair winds to you all

Great response so far. Long may it continue. Interesting point on the 'sense of dread'. I had the same, despite never having a PSA test or to be honest knowing anything at all about prostate cancer. Good luck to you mate.

I to was completely unprepared it seams we both have run aground on this nasty reef but at least we have charts to adjust our course

Yes definitely. I've just walked in from the funeral of my friend Justin, aged 52. Justin had really aggressive prostate cancer and passed in 18 months, despite throwing almost all treatments at it. He was a nice, decent family man. Let's pray that those charts manage to steer us clear from the reefs as long as possible.

When the seas turn rough - reef the main and sail on the jib.. and look for calm waters.

Sail on... wishing you fair winds and calm seas.

When comparing sailing to prostate cancer, I wish I had stayed a cancer land lubber

Men Ho! Ho! Ho! ..... ("attention" in sailor talk)....Keep on Rowing during the captain's message. Mates, there is good news and there is bad news for your rowers......

The Good news is, that all you rowers will get an extra ration of grog tonight.

The Bad news is, the captain wants to go water skiing.

And a special message for you Yardie ---
