SBRT in the Spine causes esophagus pain

I was searching on Google, and I found this.

"Some patients receiving radiation therapy to the chest, neck, and upper back may experience an inflammation of the esophagus (eh-SOFuh-gus), the long tube that connects the mouth to the stomach. You may notice the following symptoms:

Feeling a “lump” in your throat when you swallow

Soreness when swallowing

Increased difficulty in swallowing"

I called the doctor and they prescribed me magic mouthwash but the pain is really the worst.

What's the best way to handle the pain? Can I take Tylenol or other medicine?

Most hospitals and cancer centers have a pain clinic, usually run by anesthesiologists. They could advice you how to control the pain.

Eat all food and drink at room temperature. Mild, non acidic, soft food diet reccomended. Hot and/or cold drinks can cause spasm in throat.4673
