Newly diagnosed stage 4 prostate cancer, age 77, PSA in low 20 range. PSMA (type of PET scan) revealed metastasis to 7 bone sites, with intermittent hip pain alleviated with Tylenol. Occasionally short of breath because, I think, below normal hemoglobin, platelet and iron levels consistent with bone marrow depletion. I have been on a keto low carb diet for about 2 months and I hope that helps in remission process. The biochemistry associated with dietary metabolic syndrome (I.e., starving cancer by cutting off its sources of glucose) make total sense to me. Started taking fenbendazole and artemisinin several weeks ago.

"The biochemistry associated with dietary metabolic syndrome (I.e., starving cancer by cutting off its sources of glucose) make total sense to me."
1. Prostate cancer mostly feeds on fats, not glucose. (all cancers are different in their metabolic profile).
2. One cannot "starve" cancer by ingesting less of any nutrient. Cancer grows rapidly and is a voracious feeder. If it has less of one nutrient to metabolize, it simply switches to another. It will even break down healthy cells to cannibalize their nutrients.
3. Depriving yourself of vital nutrients may be the cause of your fatigue, and may impair your body's reserve to fight the cancer.
I rely on eminent scientists for scientific truth. One among many is Dr. Thomas Seyfried....check him out youtube.com/watch?v=-vi7pVR...
Professors (he's not a medical doctor) who make youtube videos are a notoriously bad source of scientific truth. But you are not alone in being duped by it. Anyone can make a youtube video. But to get published in a peer-reviewed journal takes actual hypothesis-testing and review by other experts. This is what is required to be deemed as scientific evidence.
If you are interested in how medical science is constituted, you may enjoy reading this:

You’ve ignorance of Dr Seycried’s C V is stunningly obvious. Your paucity of scientific knowledge, education or credentials is similarly self-evident.
Is he a friend of yours? You obviously get emotional about him.
Please don’t be so cold and negative to my husband. He is fighting the same battle you are. Have some mercy please 🙏
TA _is_ showing mercy. PCA is a merciless hydra that chose us to join its Hydra Club.
Here's something one can do when considering an alt treatment and delaying SOC. Put the name of the drug or supplement or whatever in the "Search HealthUnlocked" box above. Now just scan through the postings going back say 4-5 years. For bad alt treatments, you will notice the same user names don't post for very long.
What does that tell you?
Tall_allen is a very long termer -- his PCA was cured about 9 years ago and ever since he has tried to help folk find help, and usually in vain, deter alts.
Unchecked APCA advances exponentially fast. (see PSA doubling time.) Some people with long doubling times enjoy the illusion an alt treatment is "working." But using the HU search technique outlined above, they almost inevitably go silent in due course.
We intend to be totally transparent with our providers when we meet with them Monday. Whatever they advise we will be completely compliant. I have been a nurse for 49 years and I have done the research. Also purchased the a cancer Tool Kit at the advice of someone on this thread! It was very informative.
Stage 4. Mets. High PSA.
With me same and when I can, I eat often, with variety, and nutrition. I need a little extra weight to weather the lack of appetite and other storms PC can bring to the table.
As I like to say eat healthy, eat nutritious, eat well. Enjoy treats or splurges once in a while as well. Don't have much time to enjoy the quality of life eating can bring.
Although I could call PC a f'ing cockroach its not a parasite i.e. artemisinin or a worm.
You can do all the alternative treatments you want as I have BUT do not forgo SoC (Standard of Care). I read your bio and am glad you’re meeting with an RO and MO.
Take plenty of notes and research as much as possible. Come back here for questions on treatment plans.
Thank you, I will do as you suggest. I really appreciate your feedback. Will keep you updated on the plan of care.
Agree KocoPr . Most issues I've seen are those who don't follow SOC and believe they know more than the experts at major medical centers of excellence who have studied PCa. I've definitely tried to raise my husband's overall health with nutrition, exercise, etc. but we are totally open with his oncology team and we know that they are the ones who know this disease and treatments. We are trying to raise his health to help his body with the SOC or other treatments his MO puts him on. (As long as they won't interfere with his treatments.)
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Almost everyone on this site follows soc, but alternatives often work well too. Its important for people to learn everything they can about both areas. Educating yourself by talking to top quality doctors is critical because the majority of oncologists, radiologists are not in the top quality quartile
